UPDATE: Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis updated Dre Kirkpatrick's condition, ranging from "lingering soreness", "irritation" and "tendinitis." Either way it doesn't appear entirely serious, but Kirkpatrick is definitely out this Thursday against the Colts.

The chances for rookie cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick to take much-needed snaps during the preseason finale in Indianapolis dimmed even more during Tuesday's practice session. Whereas the team was practicing during the morning, Kirkpatrick wasn't anywhere to be seen on the field.

Reports surfaced on Monday that Kirkpatrick, who missed practice, visited with a doctor after feeling soreness in his knee.

In other injury news:

Bengals cornerback Adam Jones didn't practice on Tuesday but was on the field. Tight end Jermaine Gresham, defensive end Carlos Dunlap, defensive tackle Pat Sims and cornerback Jason Allen were all working on the side.
