Bills President Being "Fond" Of Ken Whisenhunt May Close The Door On Jay Gruden

Reports are surfacing on Tuesday that incoming president for the Buffalo Bills is "fond" of recently fired Ken Whisenhunt.

Though the Buffalo Bills reportedly began gathering information on Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden following Chan Gailey's dismissal, it might not be lasting nor serious. Tim Graham with BuffaloNews.com writes that the new Bills president is "fond" with recently fired Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Writes Graham:

Another name Bills fans should focus on is former Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt.

A league source informs me Russ Brandon, about to be named team president, is fond of Whisenhunt and would like the opportunity to land him as Chan Gailey's replacement.

The Bills, who recently announced that general manager Buddy Nix will be retained, are building their candidates right now. Syracuse coach Doug Marrone and Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton are scheduled to interview with the team and Lovie Smith reportedly wants the job.
