Mike Zimmer Will Interview For Cleveland Browns Vacant Head Coaching Job

Finally the ol' defensive nut-breaker will be granted an interview with the Cleveland Browns.

There you go.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is reportedly interviewing for the vacant head coaching gig with the Cleveland Browns, according to multiple reports, first from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

Wait. The enemy? Cleveland? Don't be a jerk, Zim.

Zimmer, who has bolstered Cincinnati into a respectable defense, has admitted disappointment recently that he hasn't been considered as a head coaching candidate this year, or become a head coach by now after several interviews through the years.

From 2003-2007 with Leslie Frazier and Chuck Bresnahan calling the defensive plays, the Bengals defense never ranked high than No. 19. During Bresnahan's final two seasons, the Bengals defense ranked No. 30 and 27 respectively. The Bengals fired Bresnahan after 2007 and hired Mike Zimmer, who recently left Atlanta when Bobby Petrino did what Bobby Petrino does (act like a dick).

The Bengals defense vastly improved over the course of the next five seasons, ranking in the top ten three times (2009, 2011, 2012) which is ironically the same seasons Cincinnati earned a postseason berth. Zimmer's defense has never ranked worse than No. 15.
