NFL Picks: Week Six

This was actually a touch week to pick games. Seven games featured favorites that are giving over seven points, including three games with double-digit spreads. Case in point, the Chicago Bears are hosting the New York Giants with the Bears being favored by eight. Normally, you'd pick the underdog; Bears aren't that dominating. Yet Chicago's defense is really good at forcing turnovers and the Giants are really good at turning the ball over. Maybe that's not as hard.

Then there's the 27-point spread between the Broncos and Jaguars.

It's not the ridiculous levels of college football spreads where a team like Auburn is favored by 43.5 points against Western Carolina, but you saw this coming from miles away.

Brandon Weeden or not, what impresses me about the Browns right now is their overall defense. It takes something special to shut down Cincinnati's offense. Plus Detroit may not have wide receiver Calvin Johnson, which bones my fantasy football lineup.

If any of us were smart, we'd pick the Bills with the Bengals being 7.5 point favorites, who keep games entirely too close. But we're fans. It's wrong to pick against them, no matter the cost.
