Bengals fantasy sit/start advice Week 7

The Bengals had a bit of a fantasy rebound against the Bills in Week 6. They'll be facing the Lions on Sunday, who aren't the most intimidating of match ups from a fantasy perspective. Let's take a look at what fantasy owners can expect for Week 7.

Andy Dalton: He surprised everyone in Week 6 by being the third-best quarterback in most formats. From a fantasy perspective, Dalton should come back down to earth. Even though Detroit's defense is allowing a lot of fantasy points to receivers and running backs, they're a bit tougher on fantasy quarterbacks because of the pressure they apply to anyone under center. He's barely start-worthy in 12-team leagues. He's a solid QB2 surrounding by too many better options in Week 7.

Wide receivers: The good news is that the Lions have been generous to fantasy wide receivers. According to Yahoo, the Lions have given up the 10th most points to fantasy wide receivers. The bad news is that there isn't much to count on beyond A.J. Green, and even Green has been shaky through seven weeks. Regardless, Green remains the WR1 he was drafted to be as the Lions are prone to allowing big plays from time to time. Marvin Jones had a great week against the Bills, but can't be counted on for consistent production along with Mohamed Sanu.

Running backs: Giovani Bernard continues to be a solid RB2 in most formats. He's sure to get plenty of work and is capable of big plays any time he touches the ball. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is a low-end flex option against a Lions defense that has allowed the 9th most points to fantasy running backs.

Tight ends: Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert continue to be poor fantasy options. Neither tight end has put up any noteworthy yardage and neither has found the end zone all season. Detroit has allowed very little scoring to fantasy tight ends and recently limited Jordan Cameron to 64 yards and zero touchdowns. It's always possible for either Bengals tight end to put up big numbers, but they haven't done it for seven weeks.

Defense/ Special teams: If you're able to stream another defense while keeping the Bengals on your roster, do it. I don't think the Bengals were perform as poorly as they project on paper against a Lions offense that has given up the seventh fewest points to fantasy defenses. They played well against Green Bay and New England when they weren't expected to. That said, the Bengals are a shaky start in 12-team leagues, but could easily put up great numbers. Start them if you simply can't afford to drop them.
