NFL 2013 Playoff Picture: Bengals Maintain Second Seed

Taking an early look at the 2013 playoff picture, the Bengals maintain their second seed.

With Cincinnati's 49-9 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, the Bengals are maintaining the second seed in our early look at the 2013 NFL playoff picture. Currently the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, who remain undefeated after their win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, hold the top seed in the AFC.

The current AFC playoff picture:

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (AFC West leader) (8-0)
  2. Cincinnati Bengals (AFC North leader) (6-2)
  3. New England Patriots (AFC East leader) (6-2)
  4. Indianapolis Colts (AFC South leader) (5-2)
  5. Denver Broncos (wild card) (7-1)
  6. San Diego Chargers (wild card) (4-3)

Cincinnati holds the head-to-head tie-breaker against New England after Cincinnati's 13-6 win in week five.

The remaining eight-game schedule features six opponents with a losing record -- Indianapolis and San Diego are the Bengals only opponents right now with a winning record. Cincinnati's second-half schedule features opponents with a combined 24-33 (.421 winning percentage).
