Big point spreads scare me; especially with teams not playing particularly well. For example, the Seattle Seahawks have a 16.5 point advantage over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Granted, Tampa Bay hasn't won a game this year, but they're lost only three games by more than one possession. Obviously if the points spread weren't a factor, you pick the Seattle Seahawks; but now we have massive points spread to deal with.
The Carolina Panthers have destroyed the competition in their wins, beating the Giants, Vikings, Rams, and Buccaneers by an average score of 34-10. Then again, the Panthers have destroyed the Giants, Vikings, Rams and Buccaneers. Atlanta isn't very good either, going 2-5. Have to go with the Panthers, who are playing good football right now, surpassing the 7.5 points that they're giving up. The rest of the crew picked the Falcons, which makes me think that I'm overthinking it.
