With the Cincinnati Bengals losing one of the league's best interior pass rushers in Geno Atkins, the team has been forced to look at their options. Based on theoretical discussions, Domata Peko and Brandon Thompson are of the same mold as a one-technique defensive tackle -- Thompson was listed as Peko's backup prior to Atkins' injury. Currently Thompson is listed as the team's three-technique starter with Devon Still as his backup -- recently signed Kheeston Randall is listed as Peko's backup.

However, with Randall signed on Tuesday and Still likely out this weekend, the Bengals are giving defensive end Margus Hunt snaps as an interior rusher -- ala, Wallace Gilberry.

"It's a lot more compact, a lot less freedom to work with," Hunt said before practice Wednesday via Bengals.com. "It's harder for me because usually the guards are a lot shorter than the tackles, so I have to really focus on keeping my pads down."
