No division leader deserves blackout threat
I know I'm still an outsider when it comes to the Cincinnati way of doing things. It was only four months ago that I arrived on the northern banks of the Ohio River shores and began calling this fair city my new home.

Matchup of the Game: All Day vs. Big Day
Adrian Peterson is the best running back of the 21st century and the Bengals know that he's coming for them like one of his nicknames.

Interesting week for Simmons
Even before Kevin Huber’s season-ending injury, special teams coach Darrin Simmons knew well in advance that it was going to be a difficult week.

Frazier's job again on the line
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is undoubtedly on the hot seat. His team is 4-9-1 coming into Sunday's game with the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium.

Update: Sellout; Whit, Harrison, Dunlap full go but questionable; Peterson limited, questionable
The Bengals went out to Friday morning's practice on the Paul Brown Stadium turf with their heavy hitters that missed Thursday with concussions.

The Walkthrough: Rise of Two Cal Receivers
Occasionally we miss opportunities. I know, I know, you assumed us writers were perfect. No storyline falls through the cracks, constant state of wisdom, beautiful flowing locks of perfectly coifed hair.

Fantasy Insider: Week 16
Here we are, Week 16 of the NFL season and the fantasy football championship for most leagues. The best advice I can give this week is the same thing I tell people every single year: don’t get cute!

Bengals' holiday cheer can go off script
The Bengals' holiday effort in the community has taken on a grand reach, from running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis' carefully planned meal give-a-way to defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry's impromptu stop at the FreeStore Foodbank after Friday's practice.

Adam Jones, Anthony Collins are big bargains for Bengals
An NFL team can have the best scouting department in the league, and still end up landing a dud or two when it tries signing players in free agency.

Numbers Watch: Vikings-Bengals
There is one player on the Minnesota Vikings' roster who the Cincinnati Bengals deem so dangerous that many simply refer to him by his jersey number: 28.

Adrian Peterson set to return, make run at rushing title
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson intends to return to action Sunday, and the reigning MVP hasn't given up on his third rushing title either.

NFL Week 16 TV schedule includes Saints-Panthers, Eagles-Bears
Expect aggressive play-action from the Vikings, not because Adrian Peterson is back after sitting last week with a foot injury, but because Matt Cassel has been terrific throwing dig-and in-routes at the deep-intermediate level off run fakes. Attack-minded linebackers Vontaze Burfict and Rey Maualuga can be goaded into missteps when they spot hard run-blocking action off the snap (see Chargers tight end Lardarius Green’s touchdown in Week 13), plus Cincy’s corners play a lot of off-man coverage. Both keys suggest this defense could be vulnerable to fast play-action.

New Orleans Saints have to withstand Carolina Panthers in NFL Week 16
The Bengals trying to hang on in the AFC North. The good news: Cincinnati’s 6-0 at home, and the Bengals finish with the Vikes and Ravens there. So I’d still take the Bengals (9-5) to win the division over the 8-6 Ravens. But the bad news: In the event of a division tie after 16 games, Baltimore makes the playoffs and Cincinnati would either be the sixth seed or out of the playoffs.

Two things in two games: Cincinnati Bengals' defense
With the regular season in its final stages, we'll be examining each Friday through Week 17 what we'd like to see particular Cincinnati Bengals players or position groups do with the remainder of the season.
