Bengals vs. Ravens Inactive List: Gresham and Eifert are out

The Bengals won't have Jermaine Gresham or Tyler Eifert, both of whom were battling injuries this week, against the Ravens.

Despite proclaiming that the Cincinnati Bengals will play to win the game, there's an obvious caution when it comes to players rehabilitating injuries. Tight end Tyler Eifert, who entered the weekend as doubtful without having practiced this week, will sit against the Baltimore Ravens. Eifert suffered a neck injury against the Minnesota Vikings. Fellow tight end Jermaine Gresham, dealing with a thigh injury, is also out. The Bengals didn't want to risk further injury with a rainy day today and the playoffs starting next week.

Alex Smith is expected to start at tight end and Orson Charles figures to be the primary H-back (full back).

Joining Eifert and Gresham are cornerback Terence Newman and defensive tackle Devon Still, both of whom were declared out on Friday. Newman suffered an MCL sprain against the Indianapolis Colts. It was believed when he suffered his injury that there was a chance he could return for the postseason, despite early reports that he could return within 1-3 weeks after suffering the injury.

Also out against the Ravens are wide receiver Ryan Whalen, offensive lineman Tanner Hawkinson and running back Rex Burkhead.

Vontaze Burfict was questionable after suffering a concussion, missing two practices. He was a full participant on Friday and active against the Ravens.

The Ravens have no such luxuries. They need all hands on deck. Ray Rice and Torrey Smith, each of whom were limited and questionable heading into the weekend, are active. However, defensive lineman Arthur Jones is out, having failed to pass concussion protocols this week.

Joining Jones are cornerback Asa Jackson, safety Omar Brown, offensive lineman Ryan Jensen, wide receiver Deonte Thompson, tight end Dallas Clark and outside linebacker John Simon.
