49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman and DL coach Jim Tomsula generating interest

There are six teams with head coaching vacancies, and there may be a seventh depending on what transpires in Tennessee. And some of those teams with vacancies are interested in San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman and defensive line coach Jim Tomsula, according to ESPN NFL Contributor and Insider Adam Caplan.

Roman has been an offensive coordinator in San Francisco since '11 and for two seasons before that at Stanford. Prior to the firing of Jim Schwartz, the NFL Network reported that he was "very interested" with the gig in Detroit. Roman also interviewed with Penn State before Bill O'Brien got the job two years ago, making one conclude that he could be in play if O'Brien, who is heavy favorite for the Houston Texans, returns to the NFL.
