In a bit of news that is only sweet because of the players involved. Dennis Roland was supposedly to workout with the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Tuesday. When the Bengals called on Monday, those plans were canceled.
The story can be read here.
So, it's not like we yanked the rug out from under the Steelers. For all intents and purposes, the Bengals signed some depth in a lineman that is familiar with this offense. Good ole Tackle Eligible will be here as depth in case of further injury.
The sweet part is that the Steelers showed interest in a Bengals cut player. Then the Bengals yanked him back before he could even make it to the workout. The carrot was dangled and then pulled away. The bigger kid took the toy from the little kid. It just is nice to be on this side of the equation sometimes.
