Three Bengals On NFL.com All-Under-25 Team

NFL.com created an all-under-25 team and considering 33 players on Cincinnati's 77-man roster are below 25 years old, the Bengals will show up on such lists.

It's good to be young. Those are the cloudy thoughts permeating from my younger self (who once sported an afro with a rat tail) many years ago before troubled knees and bones that crack like bongo drums overwhelmed me. The good thing is that the Bengals have a dominating ratio of youth acquired through the NFL draft and the chaotic moments following it to grab undrafted free agents. NFL.com compiled an All-Under-25 team, which if you need help, features players under 25 years old.

Cincinnati features three players. Wide receiver A.J. Green, defensive tackle Geno Atkins and offensive guard Kevin Zeitler. On Zeitler, Elliot Harrison writes:

This is one guy who had a very strong rookie season without much acclaim. You can nitpick, but he was called for just two penalties in 16 starts and can be a mauler.

Vontaze Burfict didn't make the list, only because Luke Kuechly and NaVorro Bowman were listed as the best inside linebackers with Aldon Smith and Von Miller on the outside. Burfict is good but those four players clearly held the headlines and affection of the national media. We can't fault them too much. They're good players.

That being said the Bengals have 77 players currently signed (which includes players entering free agency next month) and 33 are below the age of 25. Only eight are 30 years old or older.
