Bengals HC Marvin Lewis: Burfict Can Player Anywhere He Wants

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is expected to move inside as the team's starting middle linebacker next season.

Vontaze Burfict is the hovering excuse to shift Rey Maualuga out. Either off the squad entirely or to SAM, where he was most productive during the first two seasons of his NFL career. Though there appears to be a battle of sources close to the situation announcing that the Bengals want/don't want Maualuga back, Burfict is expected to make the move inside.

Though Marvin Lewis, completely endeared with his young linebacker that totaled a team-leading 174 tackles during his rookie season, wasn't concrete on which position that Burfict will play next season, he offers a between-the-lines response.

Yep. We're filing this under a Lewisism: generally promoted when he doesn't want to provide concrete answers though offers between-the-line responses that one can decipher -- unless you really think Burfict could play safety.
