LB Thomas Howard Visiting With Miami Dolphins

In one of the more worrisome stories out of free agency so far, it has been reported that LB Thomas Howard is currently visiting with the Miami Dolphins.

On a day during which the Bengals have been conspicuously quiet on the free agency front, other teams have been making waves. One such team is the Miami Dolphins who have already signed four players to new deals since the start of the new league year. According to the Dolphins' official twitter account, they aren't stopping there.

In case the Bengals' slow start to free agency hasn't panicked you enough, the Dolphins are currently playing host to LB Thomas Howard. Howard was a major contributor on Mike Zimmer's defense in 2011 and appeared ready to continue his solid play before a week-two ACL injury derailed his 2012 campaign. Now a free agent, the Bengals must quickly decide whether or not his injury history is a concern before another team snatches him up on the open market.

With Rey Maualuga also still unsigned, the Bengals linebacker corps are worryingly thin. If Howard does bolt for Miami, Vontaze Burfict will be the only remaining linebacker on the roster who was a consistent starter in 2012.
