Cincinnati's free agency hasn't gone as expected, no doubt. At this point they've hosted four players, none you could classify as being starters. Running back Mike Goodson arrived Wednesday, following Beanie Wells' visit from Tuesday. Wide receiver and return specialist Ted Ginn Jr and quarterback Josh Johnson each visited Cincinnati on Thursday.
Wells took a physical on Thursday in Pittsburgh and Goodson is about to be off the market.
According to Manish Mehta, New York Jets beat writer for the New York Daily News, Goodson is "close to signing" a deal with the Jets on Friday.
I'm told RB Mike Goodson is "close to signing" a deal with the Jets. #nyj

Goodson felt like a nice fit as a Brian Leonard replacement, primarily a third down back and probably special teams player; not as the second piece of a two-back system. Cincinnati figures to heavily address the position through the 2013 NFL draft.
[UPDATE] According to Adam Schefter, Goodson has signed a three-year deal with the Jets.
Jets signed Mike Goodson to a three-year, $6.9 million deal.
