As we pointed out on Wednesday, Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict led the NFL with $299,645 in performance based pay for the 2012 season. His base salary alone during his rookie season was only $390,000; standard for a first-year rookie. Performance based pay is determined by playing time relative to a player's compensation, which is being awarded for the first time since 2009 due to the NFL lockout and adjusting CBA in recent years.
All but four teams were awarded $3.46 per organization. Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer obtained the breakdown for the Cincinnati Bengals, based on a league source.
