Free Agent CB Terence Newman Tweets That He's Returning To Cincinnati

Free agent cornerback Terence Newman took his time (justifiably so) making a decision where he'll play in 2013. He finally decided.

Well it took some time, but free agent cornerback Terence Newman has decided on his team.

We had originally suspected that the delayed decision boiled down to two things: The Raiders offered more years/money while the Bengals offered one last shot for a championship. Though he gives a ton of credit to Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, adding another advantage Cincinnati had over Oakland.

According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the deal is reportedly worth $5 million over two years, with $3 million in the first year.

Newman fills out the first four cornerbacks on the depth chart, starting with Leon Hall, Dre Kirkpatrick, Adam Jones and now Newman. The fifth (and maybe six) could setup an interesting training camp battle between Shaun Prater, Jason Allen and Brandon Ghee.
