NFL analyst Adam Caplan rattled off a few defensive free agents that he considers under the radar that teams will likely keep an eye on when free agency begins. Of those free agents, Bengals free agent linebacker Dan Skuta was mentioned.
Also, keep an eye on Dan Skuta. As an RFA last season, Chiefs brought him in for a visit. Fits in at SLB or MLB/great special teams player.

Skuta has been the backup middle linebacker for the Bengals for the last four seasons and, when called upon, has done a pretty nice job. He has also been extremely productive as a special teams player for the team. In his four seasons with the Bengals, he has played in 56 games, taking snaps in every game over the last three seasons, and made 81 tackles and half a sack.
The other players mentioned on Caplans list were 49ers defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois, Seahawks defensive tackle Jason Jones, Chargers defensive tackle Vaughn Martin, Lions defensive end Lawrence Jackson and Saints linebacker Jonathan Casillas.
Unrestricted free agents like Skuta are able to sign with new teams beginning on March 12. If the Bengals want to guarantee that he'll be with the team in 2013, they'll have to sign him before then. If not, they'll risk Skuta testing the open market.
