With the No. 17 pick in the 2013 Cincy Jungle Mock Draft, I selected for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and with the 17th overall pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select....

Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame

I seriously considered using the No. 17 pick to give the Steelers a punter or a kicker here. Why you ask? Because screw the Steelers, that's why. However, being a responsible person, I chose to take the high road. Had either Tavon Austin or Cordarrelle Patterson been available, they would have been the choice. They weren't, though.

Eifert is this draft class' best tight end. The Steelers have Heath Miller, who had the best season of his career in 2012, but he's not young and he'll be an unrestricted free agent after the 2014 season. Eifert could allow the Steelers to not only run an offense featuring two good receiving tight ends, but he could take the torch from Miller following the 2014 season, or earlier if necessary.
