The Bengals' recently signed tight end Alex Smith's one-year deal is worth $905,000, according to Aaron Wilson. That includes a $40,000 bonus and a $25,000 workout bonus on top of a $840,000 base salary.

Smith was a third-round pick out of Stanford in 2005 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After four years he was traded to the New England Patriots, but was cut before the season began and signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2009 season. Following that, he played for the Cleveland Browns for the next three years.
In his career, he has caught 16- passes for 1,461 yards and 12 touchdowns. He will compete with Orson Charles for playing time as the team's second tight end.
