NFL Mock Draft: Bengals Select Safety

We're just a few short days away from the 2013 NFL Draft. That means we won't have to suffer through any more mock drafts (you have to be sick of them), but until Thursday, you're going to have to deal with it.

In SB Nation's latest mock draft, put together by SB Nation's Dan Kadar, the Bengals select Florida International safety Jonathan Cyprien with the No. 21 overall pick.

Should the Bengals lose out on Kenny Vaccaro, they can still get a very good safety prospect in Cyprien. Of the two, he's can support the run better and is a more powerful tackler.

This makes sense. The Bengals are in need of safety help and with the depth of safeties that could fit into the Bengals' system under Mike Zimmer, selecting one with the team's first round pick would be smart. With a new starting strong safety to play next to Reggie Nelson, the team's secondary would be in better shape than it has been in a long time.

Cyprien is a big safety who is solid in run support and he's a powerful tackler. He also has the range to be an effective pass defender too. Cyprien could likely step in and start in Week 1 and should help the Bengals' defense right away.
