Marvin Lewis, along with a couple of Bengals scouts made the short trip up the hill from Paul Brown Stadium to Nippert Stadium to watch former Cincinnati Bearcats tight end Travis Kelce's workout for pro scouts, according to the director of new media and broadcasting at the university, Tom Gelehrter.

Kelce is the Bearcats' top prospect heading into the 2013 NFL Draft. He was injured during the school's Pro Day on March 13 and set aside Thursday for a workout of his own. During his time at UC, Kelce caught 59 passes for 875 yards and 10 touchdowns. Kelce is considered a top-five tight end in this year's draft class and is likely to be selected in the first half of the draft.

The Bengals have three tight ends on the roster: Jermaine Gresham, Orson Charles and Richard Quinn. Gresham is a two-time Pro Bowler so the team's interest in a tight end isn't likely that great. However, Gresham's last year under contract is 2014 and if the team believes they need to bring in someone new just in case they can't re-sign Gresham, they could look to the draft this year.
