The 2013 NFL Draft is a little over two weeks away. We've been feeding mock drafts to you non-stop over the past few weeks, and today is no different, as we bring you Rotoworld's latest mock draft.
This one was a bit special, though, because it featured trades. NFL Draft Expert Josh Norris included more trades than some might deem likely, but don't forget that as many as half of the first round picks in 2012 were traded at some point.
With the 21st pick, no trades were involved, but Norris selected Florida International Safety Jonathan Cyprien:
21. Cincinnati Bengals -- S Johnathan Cyprien, FIU
One of my favorite prospects in this class, Cyprien spent a large amount of time near the line of scrimmage but has enough range to be an interchangeable piece. Like Taylor, I truly think Cyprien will be selected in the first-round, and I wouldn't be shocked if it was earlier than this.
Another safety in the first round for the Bengals.
Recently, this has been a bit of a growing trend.
|No. 21||No. 37||No. 53|
|Mel Kiper (4/4)||LB Alec Ogletree||S Shamarko Thomas||CB Jonathan Banks|
|Bucky Brooks (4/6)||RB Eddie Lacy||T Melenik Watson||S DJ Swearinger|
|Daniel Jeremiah (4/6)||S Matt Elam||RB Eddie Lacy||OT Terron Armstead|
|Chris Steuber (4/7)||S Kenny Vacarro||RB Gio Bernard||n/a|
|Matthew Fairburn (4/8)||S Jonathan Cyprien||RB Gio Bernard||DE Datone Jones|

Each of the last seven mock drafts we've published on Cincy Jungle have had the Bengals taking a safety in the first two rounds. And the last six in a row have had a safety at pick No. 21.
Kenny Vacarro is viewed as a consensus first rounder and probably a top twenty pick. It doesn't seem likely that he falls to No. 21, but it's still possible.
Jonathan Cyprien's stock has risen constantly throughout this draft process to where he is now viewed as a middle or late first rounder.
Lastly, opinions vary wildly on the Florida playmaker, Matt Elam. Some have him outside the top five safeties in the class, while others think he is a middle or late first rounder.
This morning, our own Josh Kirkendall and Jason Garrison chose defensive end Alex Okafor in the second round of the SBNation Writer's mock draft, after running to the podium for Kenny Vacarro in the first round.
Also, Joe Reedy of the Enquirer appeared on the NFL Network's NFL AM today, and added his pick to the NFL AM draft. He chose safety Matt Elam, saying:
Just with the way the mock draft has gone right now, if Kenny Vacarro was there it would be nice, but I'm going to go with Matt Elam, the safety out of Florida. He's a good physical safety, he'd be a nice pairing with Reggie Nelson, and I think that's kind of the way, continuing the trend on defense. I don't like to take a safety early, but with this safety class this year and their need of safety, it would fit very well for them.
What do you think. Kenny Vacarro, Jonathan Cyprien, or Matt Elam? Or would you wait for a safety in the next tier?
