Cincinnati Bengals Announce Joint Practices With The Atlanta Falcons

The Cincinnati Bengals will fly to Atlanta earlier than usual for their August 8 preseason game against the Falcons. Both teams will conduct joint practices before their scheduled preseason game.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Thursday that the team will take part in joint practices with the Atlanta Falcons during training camp this year. Both practices will be held at Flowery Branch, Georgia on Monday and Tuesday August 5-6 and open to the public -- times are currently undetermined.

This will lead to Cincinnati's August 8 preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome, shown nationally on ESPN.

"I’m glad we were able to work this out with Mike and the Falcons," said Lewis, referring to Falcons head coach Mike Smith. "We’ve done some joint practices with other teams in Cincinnati in the past, and I think it helps our guys stay sharp and focused as we move through the preseason. You put yourself on the field with another team and let the competitive juices flow a little bit."

Both before and after the Atlanta practices, the Bengals will be conducting training camp at Paul Brown Stadium, with most sessions open to the public. The training camp period will run from July 25 through Aug. 15.

"This will be our second year holding camp in Cincinnati, and we’re looking forward to another great run," said Bob Bedinghaus, Bengals director of business development.
