We shared the surprise with many of the Bengals fan when in the first round they selected Tyler Eifert, Tight End out of Notre Dame. The shock quickly turned to excitement as we started to realize just what kind of opportunities we had with this type of player.
I had the chance to catch up with Eifert and I first had to ask what his initial thoughts of Cincinnati were. I quickly followed with a couple questions about what he thought about being drafted by the Bengals. He told me he also shared the same surprise as most Bengals fans.
Then I wondered how he thought he would fit into this offense. The two tight end sets we have talked about on this site and have seen from other successful NFL teams are now a real possibility for the Bengals and I wanted to know his thoughts. He is as excited as we are. After naming several of the Bengals offensive stars, he mentions how he can't wait to get involved with the offense and contribute.
