Bengals cornerback Adam Jones will speak to rookies at the 2013 NFL Rookie Symposium about his life and the off-field troubles that have plagued him since he was selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Jones seemed to turn things around once he signed with the Bengals, but the recent trouble involving a woman who works at Paul Brown Stadium has many Bengals fans worried about Jones' future with the team.

What is clear, though, is the fact that rookies have a lot to learn from Jones' mistakes over the years. Troy Vincent, the league's vice president of player engagement hopes that Jones' speech will be authentic and can open the eyes of the league's youngest players.

"You are not going to trick an athlete," Vincent told Reedy. "They know when it is dressed up and not real. When you can sit among your peers and just talk about your life, someone is learning from that. They can look at him and see themselves from the way they look to where they have originated."

It's unclear what will come from Jones' most recent off-field incident and whether Jones will be suspended or not. Regardless of what happens, hopefully Jones' talk with the 2013 rookie class can open some of their eyes and prevent them from following Jones down the same path.

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio put forth one potential message that Jones can give to the incoming rookies:

Here's one suggested message: Know that you're a potential target, assume that anything you do is being recorded by a camera, and avoid places where folks may try to bait you into doing something you'll regret.
