Former Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson has a scheduled hearing on Monday after he turned himself into authorities in Broward County, Fla. for probation violation. He was on probation stemming from a no contest plea that he allegedly head butted his now ex-wife Evelyn Lozada.
A warrant was filed after Johnson reportedly missed meetings with his probation officer as well as failed to report to a mandatory anger management class, which he was ordered to take by the court.
According to WCPO, the prosecution against Johnson is seeking jail time for the former Bengals wide receiver, even though Johnson insisted that missing his meeting was a misunderstanding and unintentional.
Johnson is the Bengals franchise leading receiver with 10,783 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns. He was one of the most exciting players to watch in team history. He was traded to the Patriots before the 2011 season and struggled in New England. He was then signed by the Dolphins, but was released shortly after his arrest.
