The NFL and Verizon announced on Tuesday that they have come to a multi-year extension. Verizon Wireless, which has been the wireless service provider of the NFL, will continue to provide fans with access to their favorite sport.

In 2013, the NFL and Verizon will launch an updated version of the NFL Mobile app, which will offer access on phones to Thursday, Sunday and Monday Night Football games and coverage from NFL Network and NFL RedZone. It will include improvements that will show the latest news, stats and game highlights, as well as feature on-demand videos. Fans will also have access to fantasy football updates and NFL alerts as well as ringtones and graphics.

Then, in 2014, the NFL and Verizon will begin including access to live CBS and FOX Sunday afternoon games within their home markets. They will show playoff games and the Super Bowl as well.

So, for those of you who have Verizon Wireless as your service provider, look for the updates on the NFL Mobile app for the upcoming season.
