As if we needed a reason to like A.J. Green even more. According to the Summerville Journal Scene, the Bengals All-Pro wide receiver plans to host a skills camp for high school-aged players in his hometown, encompassing both football and career-building skills.
"I am excited to be able to come home and give back to the community that helped me to become the person that I am today," Green, a 2007 Summerville High School Graduate, said. "It's a blessing and I hope to continue this tradition every year."
The camp will be held on Saturday, June 8th, and will cover a wide variety of topics and activities, from "games, drills, and skills contests focused on football fundamentals" to on-hand experts "[providing] participants with advice on matters such as basic budgeting, health and fitness awareness, and character building." It's like a one-day crash course on how to become a successful NFL player, and Green--a two-time Pro Bowler--is the perfect candidate for the job.
