Rest assured that when the Bengals are playing, the city of Cincinnati is paying attention. Perhaps that's not surprising; considering the anticipation and eagerness to watch football players in a sport that's dominated by 365-day coverage within the calendar year.
Eleven of the 12 local markets where a preseason game was being played, earned the top ratings in those respective markets. The Bengals drew an 18.2 rating in Cincinnati, killing the second-highest rated show, the Big Bang Theory. Along with being on ESPN, the Cincinnati's 34-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons was also shown on WLWT (Channel 5) simultaneously.
Cincinnati will be on Local 12 for the remaining games this preseason, hosting the Tennessee Titans this Saturday. If the game isn't sold out (and preseason games often aren't), the game will be on tape delay in the region. They play their dress rehearsal game in Dallas on Aug. 24 and the preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts is scheduled for Aug. 29.
