At one point fullback John Conner wasn't part of offseason discussions when formulating projected rosters. Perhaps that's why they practice, conduct training camp, and have a preseason. Because since then, he's making a case to claim the fullback roster on the team's 53-man roster.
And he feels he can do whatever the team asks.
"I feel like I’m a very versatile player and I can do everything that they ask me to do at the fullback position," Conner said. "I feel like I have caught their attention. Looking at myself on film, I’m pretty confident."
Indeed.
Along with being an extremely effective blocker, Conner posted a 13-yard reception on third and five midway through the fourth quarter. Charles was targeted once, but Josh Johnson's throw was low.
