Bengals safety George Iloka could miss the final two preseason games

The second-year safety suffered a wrist injury that forced him out against the Titans and may hold him out for the rest of the preseason.

Cincinnati Bengals safety George Iloka is fortunate.

After stringing together an impressive training camp that propelled him to the top of the team's depth chart, the answer on who starts opposite of Reggie Nelson was easily being answered. However, at some point during practice last week, Iloka suffered a wrist injury and currently has a "cast-like apparatus" and could miss the final two preseason games.

Thankfully for Iloka, he developed enough credit to secure his place on the 53-man roster. Will he start when the team opens the regular season in Chicago? Unknown. According to Bengals.com, he's expected to be ready at least.

Shawn Williams was extremely active against the Titans on Saturday, generating a team-high 10 tackles -- which doubled Jayson DiManche and Bruce Taylor, both of whom were second on the team with five tackles each. Taylor Mays, the third party of a three-man competition who started on Saturday, had four second-half stops after being shutout in the opening two quarters.

The Bengals will open their third preseason game (dubbed the dress rehearsal) this Saturday in Dallas.
