NFL Roster Cuts: Bengals have decisions to make

The deadline for all NFL rosters to be within 75 players is Tuesday at 4 p.m. (ET).

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The deadline for all NFL teams to reduce their roster to a maximum 75 players is approaching. By 4 p.m. on Tuesday, teams are required by league rules to terminate contracts, waive their youngsters or apply roster exemptions (from various injury lists).

The team released six on Sunday, starting with tight end Richard Quinn, who spent last season on Cincinnati's 53-man roster. Other cuts from the weekend included defensive tackle Vaughan Meatoga, wide receiver Jheranie Boyd, cornerback Terrence Brown, linebacker Jordan Campbell and place-kicker Quinn Sharp.

As we pointed out on Monday, the team may get away with only releasing one player by placing linebackers Sean Porter and Brandon Joiner on IR, and then shifting running back Bernard Scott, quarterback Zac Robinson, and fullback Chris Pressley to the in-season Physically Unable to Perform list.

A look at possible players that the team could cut.

Wide Receiver: Taveon Rogers, Roy Roundtree
Tight End/Long Snapper: Bryce Davis
Offensive Line: Otis Hudson, John Sullen, Jason Weaver
Defensive End: DeQuin Evans
Linebacker: Bruce Taylor
Safety: Tony Dye

Following the 75-man roster deadline on Tuesday, teams will be required to further reduce their roster to the regular season 53-man maximum by Saturday, Aug. 31 at 6:00 p.m. (ET).
