Bengals cornerbacks Dre Kirkpatrick and Brandon Ghee remain sidelines as the team is enforcing concussion protocols. It's doubtful that either plays this Thursday against the Indianapolis Colts. Whether or not they're suiting up against the Chicago Bears is completely unknown -- have a coin? Starting left tackle Andrew Whitworth was joined by right tackle Andre Smith, who suffered a knee injury against the Cowboys. If this were the regular season, he plays this Thursday. But it's not. Expect him to sit out against the Colts but ready for the Sept. 8 regular season opener.
On the bright side, many of those that didn't play against the Dallas Cowboys are slowly returning to the field. Adam Jones has been dealing with a rib injury, but returned to the field during practice on Tuesday. Defensive ends Carlos Dunlap and Robert Geathers returned, as did linebacker James Harrison (who had an unknown ailment).
Even more encouraging is that Andrew Hawkins is doing some work on the sidelines with rehabilitation trainer Nick Cosgray. PUP-member Chris Pressley, unable to play until at least week seven, joined him.
