Brandon Ghee leaves with a head injury

The fourth-year cornerback was making strides to finally have the year he's needed to sustain his Bengals career.

Were we fooled again?

That's the question that will follow Brandon Ghee following Cincinnati's impressive showing against the Atlanta Falcons Thursday night. With a good training camp, confidence-boosting OTA session with the first-team defense (while others were hurt), Ghee added a solidifying argument with a second quarter interception with over two minutes remaining in the first half. That interception led to a Giovani Bernard touchdown and a Bengals 17-3 half time lead.

Unfortunately, the same durability concerns that have followed Ghee's career returned Thursday night when the fourth-year cornerback suffered a head injury during a tackle that forced him out of the game.

We can only hope that the injury doesn't sideline Ghee for too long. He's a story that's closing on a redemption theme, but eventually these durability concerns will end his career in Cincinnati. But more will be known later.
