In a move that should surprise pretty much everyone, the Browns traded franchise running back Trent Richardson to the Colts for a first round pick.
According to Adam Schefter:

You can talk about the weight of a first round pick bringing more value than a running back the way the game has evolved. The interesting thing here is how bad the Browns gut reaction is to the first two weeks of the season.
Essentially they are throwing in the towel this season and playing for the draft. First it was tweeting that they are naming the third string QB Brian Hoyer to starter this week. Now Richardson is gone.
Browns are going to Browns it I guess.
The Browns are rumored to be signing free agent running back Willis McGahee if he passes a physical.
The Browns of the future could have made a huge step today. They now have 7 picks in the first 4 rounds of next years draft. I am thinking a QB and RB may be in the picture.
