Bengals vs Browns: Expecting Giovani Bernard to sit out

Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard sat during Tuesday's session, leaving little doubt that he'll likely miss Thursday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard is expected to miss his second consecutive game after sitting for a fifth straight practice, leaving Wednesday's walkthrough as the final session before Thursday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

"While the Cincinnati Bengals have yet to make a formal announcement on his playing status, you should expect Bernard to be out Thursday when the Cleveland Browns visit Paul Brown Stadium," Coley Harvey wrote on Tuesday.

Rookie running back Jeremy Hill rushed for 154 yards during Cincinnati's 33-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars -- the most by a Bengals player since Cedric Benson ripped off 189 yards against the Chicago Bears in 2009.

Hill is expected to resume his role as the primary running back -- if not the only one. Cedric Peerman rushed five times for nine yards when Hill exited with a knee injury. Rex Burkhead, who played six snaps on Sunday and tipped a second quarter punt, caught two passes for 10 yards.
