Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin offered a few updates for injured players on Tuesday.
+ Linebacker James Harrison has been dealing "with a minor knee injury" and will have it looked at this week. That being said, Tomlin expects him to play against the Bengals this Sunday. Harrison was signed on Sept. 23 after rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier and linebacker Jarvis Jones suffered injuries during a Sunday Night game over the Carolina Panthers.
+ Linebacker Jarvis Jones could come off short-term IR this week, with Tomlin saying that he "possibly could be an asset to us in this football game." Jones underwent wrist surgery following a Sunday Night game against the Panthers. He was placed on IR with a designation to return. He returned to practice last Monday (Nov. 24) following Pittsburgh's bye week.
+ Rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier has a "strong chance" of playing this weekend. Shazier missed the last three games with a sprained ankle and is listed as day-to-day.
+ Tomlin also expects cornerback Brice McCain (hamstring) and right tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) back this week. Gilbert injured an ankle during practice last week. Mike Adams started at right tackle for Gilbert last week. McCain left in the first quarter against New Orleans with a hamstring.
+ Also, if you were unaware, the Steelers placed defensive end Brett Keisel, who tore a tricep against the Saints on Sunday, on season-ending IR. Our friends at Behind the Steel Curtain write that the "move leaves the organization extremely thin along the defensive line." Pittsburgh signed Robert Geathers' younger brother Clifton.
