Browns interested in Gus Malzahn and James Franklin, will interview Dan Quinn and Josh McDaniels

It doesn't appear that Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is in play for the Cleveland Browns, despite interviewing with the team last year prior to the hiring of Rob Chudzinski. Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden has never been in play and doesn't figure to be this year either.

However, their pool of candidates continues to increase.

The Browns are scheduled to meet with Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn this Wednesday. The Browns were granted permission to interview New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Tuesday.

However, Jason La Canfora with CBSSports.com writes that the Browns want to interview Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and Vanderbilt's James Franklin, who is a candidate for the Texas Longhorns head coaching job.
