When team Sanders drafted wide receiver A.J. Green for the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl, not long afterward, Team Rice grabbed linebacker Vontaze Burfict. Of course you're thinking... "Oh no, Burfict is going to LIGHT.. UP... Green." For obvious reasons, calm heads and big-picture perspectives, that probably won't happen but Burfict reaches another level of intensity sometimes.
Green is confident that he won't be seeing stars after a hit from Burfict. In fact, Green doesn't think he'll get touched.
Green told reporters: "He said he's not going to hit me coming across the middle. We're real-life teammates. He's real great player. One of the best in the business.
"Every time I get on the field, it's time to compete. Look at all the great receivers we have. There's no telling who is going to get the ball.
This is Burfict's first Pro Bowl. Burfict invited former linebackers coach and current defensive coordinator, Paul Guenther and his family to Hawaii to enjoy the experience... and as thanks for helping him develop. As for Green, this is his third appearance in only his third NFL season.
