The Washington Redskins have hired Jay Gruden as their next head coach, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter is reporting.

Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the deal is for five years. Schefter reports that Gruden will be introduced as the Redskins newest head coach on Thursday. According to Jason La Canfora, Jim Haslett is sticking around as the defensive coordinator.

Gruden, hired after by the Bengals after Cincinnati parted ways with Bob Bratkowski, achieved relative success when his offense ranked in the top-ten for the first time in '13. In the previous two seasons, Gruden's offense ranked No. 22 and No. 20 respectively.
The Bengals will now have to figure out who their next offensive coordinator will be. Many believe that their best in-house candidate is Hue Jackson. However, if the team wants to keep with a form of the west coast offense, Jackson might not be the ideal candidate.
In the end, if we're throwing up odds at who becomes the Bengals next offensive coordinator, Jackson is the heavy favorite.
