Vontaze Burfict still not practicing; Marvin Jones held out with ankle issue

In addition to Vontaze Burfict being out, Marvin Jones also missed the Wednesday session with what's described as a "tweaked ankle" that's unrelated to the broken foot he suffered in training camp.

The Bengals are still waiting for Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict to gain clearance in time to play on Sunday. With a date with the New England Patriots looming, the third-year linebacker continues to be held out of practice after suffering two concussions in the first two games.

After missing Monday's session, Burfict was once again unable to go Wednesday, though he was on the field in sweats. He needs to go through at least one practice before Marvin Lewis will feel good enough to play him after having Burfict out of practice for more than two weeks now.

In addition to Burfict being out, wide receiver Marvin Jones also missed the Wednesday session with what's described as a "tweaked ankle", unrelated to the broken foot he suffered during training camp.

Also held out Wednesday were starting guards Mike Pollak and Kevin Zeitler. Pollak was given a veteran's rest day while he fills in for the injured Zeitler, who tore a calf muscle in Week 2 vs. the Falcons.
