Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones has officially been ruled out this Sunday, the team announced Saturday morning. Cincinnati hosts the Carolina Panthers this Sunday (1 p.m., FOX).
Jones didn't practice at all this week and hasn't since hurting his ankle (a new injury) during Monday's practice following Cincinnati's bye week. So if you're surprised by the team's announcement, then quite honestly, you're not paying attention.
A.J. Green is questionable for Sunday, but he's not expected to play either. Green re-aggravated injured ligaments in his big toe during pre-practice stretches on Wednesday and hasn't practiced since. Following a visit with a foot specialist, Green was outfitted with a protective boot. According to Bengals.com, Green will see another specialist next week as the team figures out what they need/want to do.
Kevin Zeitler, who suffered a calf injury during a second quarter touchdown run in the regular season opener, was limited on Wednesday but sat Thursday and Friday. He's doubtful. We'd comfortably bet the house that he'll join defensive tackle Brandon Thompson on the team's inactive list Sunday afternoon.
