The New York Giants were already getting blown out by the Eagles on Sunday Night Football, but it managed to get worse. With New York facing a 4th-and-goal Eli Manning fired for the back of the end zone to an open Victor Cruz, but as Cruz attempted to make the catch, his knee bent awkwardly, and he immediately went to the ground crying in pain.
That was scene of him as he was then carted off the field and into the locker room, sobbing the whole way as he clearly knew his season was over.
The Giants then announced that Cruz has torn his patella tendon. This is a very sad way to see Cruz's season end.
It will be a long road to recovery now if he's able to get back on the field and play at his Pro-Bowl level.
With Rashad Jennings likely out for at least a couple of weeks due to an MCL sprain, the Giants are already having to rely on the passing game, which will now be without its best weapon.
