Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones is headed east to see a specialist about his right ankle, according to Coley Harvey with ESPN. According to his sources, the ankle that Jones tweaked during the first practice after the bye, could be a break and may require surgery
The source said the belief is that Jones broke his other foot trying to overcompensate for the injury to his right ankle. The source also said doctors didn't know what any of the problems with the ankle were until just after the "tweak" when he saw a specialist. Now Jones is off for one final diagnosis before the Bengals figure out what to do with him.
The third-year receiver, who posted career numbers in receptions (51), yards receiving (712) and touchdowns (10), will see his specialist/doctor in North Carolina on Tuesday.
Jones has had an issue with his ankle since February, which forced him onto the team's Non-football Injury List when the team began practicing during training camp. When he finally participated, he broke his left foot and has missed the team's first five games.
What we're getting out of this story?
Don't expect Jones soon... if at all this year.
