Kevin Zeitler plays well in return to continue good season

The Bengals continue to get good play out of Kevin Zeitler, and that will be key going forward.

There wasn't much good to come out of Sunday's game vs. the Colts. One bright spot that did emerge was starting right guard Kevin Zeitler making his return and playing fairly well in Indy.

Prior to his calf injury, Zeitler received a 2.1 grade from Pro Football Focus in the 1.5 games he played vs. the Ravens and Falcons. In comparison, Mike Pollak has a 0.0 through 2.5 games. Zeitler's 1.3 pass-blocking grade was also fourth-best on the team, as he has yet to surrender a sack, hit or hurry in 102 offensive snaps.

On Sunday, Zeitler scored a 1.2, the highest any Bengals offensive player received. For the year now, his 3.3 cumulative grade ranks him 18th out of 79 guards on PFF.

How well a guard played in a 27-0 loss seems irrelevant now, but if this team is to rebound, Zeitler helping this offensive line to reclaim its status as one of the best in football will be important for the Bengals getting back to the postseason.
