The Bengals got mostly good news during their Thursday practice session, as Leon Hall was able to return in a limited capacity. Also practicing in a limited capacity was running back Giovani Bernard, who has now been limited in both practices this week.
If he's limited again on Friday, it will be a clear sign that his rib injury is more serious than originally thought. It's unclear if this is from the massive hit he took from Vontae Davis in Week 7. Gio also was limited in practice following his shoulder injury in Week 6 vs. the Panthers.
Speaking of which, Bernard has done virtually nothing since the 89-yard touchdown scored in Week 6, but he wasn't exactly doing much before than either.
Take out Giovani Bernard's 89-yard run against the Panthers and he's averaging 3.39 yards per carry. Yuck.

As for defensive tackle Geno Atkins, he exited Thursday's practice to attend to what looked like a foot issue, but he was later seen going back into practice with the shoe back on.
Have to imagine that means he came back despite the time off practice earlier. He was just seen walking back in the stadium with shoe on.

The injury report since released does not have Atkins listed on it, so it looks as though this was nothing to worry about. While Geno isn't doing much in terms of box score stats, he is making a positive impact for a defense in desperate need of him to reclaim his All-Pro form.
Plays like this are why Geno Atkins got a team-leading +3.4 in pass rush despite almost nothing on the stat... https://t.co/tQjxfIG8FP
