A.J. Green Back At Bengals Practice; Giovani Bernard Held Out

The Cincinnati Bengals appear to slowly be getting healthier and it looks like they might have their Pro Bowl wide receiver at their disposal this Sunday.

Two steps forward, another back. That phrase could easily be used to describe the Cincinnati Bengals' injury issues this season, as they've suffered many on both sides of the ball. There have been those of the severe variety, where offensive playmakers Tyler Eifert and wide receiver Marvin Jones have both been placed on some form of Injured Reserve--Eifert designated to return and Jones out for the season.

Then there are players who have had the nagging injuries throughout the first half of the season. Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict has had concussion/neck issues and just had a scope of his knee. Throw in A.J. Green having foot issues of his own and it's a wonder that the Bengals are 4-2-1 with so many key injuries.

Though Burfict appears to be missing the next couple of games, the team might be getting Green back this week against the Jaguars. Green was suited up at practice and was seen doing drills with the receiver group on Wednesday. It's possible that this is an initial test to gauge the pain and/or see how it responds tomorrow after a day of work. It was a bit surprising that the Bengals sat Green again last Sunday in a huge game versus Baltimore.

We'll have more injury updates as they develop on Wednesday and throughout the week.
