Sunday night football. There are a ton of questions around this game that we are anxiously awaiting answers to. Will the Bengals continue their trend of struggling in prime time games? Will the Patriots bounce back after a loss like they always seem to do? We turn to Tecmo Super Bowl to try and get a glimpse into what may happen on Sunday night.
The Bengals elect to receive the kick and the Patriots defense is tough. A quarterback sack by Rob Ninkovich along with some poor passing from Andy Dalton forces the Bengals to punt on their first possession.
The Bengals play some good defense of their own as Rey Maualuga gets to Tom Brady for the sack.
The Patriots attempt a field goal and miss.
Dalton finds Jeremy Hill out of the backfield for a short pass, he takes 33 yds.
At the end of the first quarter there is still no score.
The offense stalls and the Bengals are forced to try a field goal.
It's good!
The Bengals defense continues to shut down the Patriots offense and New England is forced to punt.
On the Bengals next possession, Mohamed Sanu is hit after catching a pass and fumbles the ball. It is recovered by the Patriots.
Geno Atkins disrupts Tom Brady and the Patriots are forced to another field goal attempt.
Not even close.
At the half, the Bengals lead 3 - 0.
To open the second, the Bengals defense does not bend. Geno Atkins records a sack as the Patriots again are forced to punt.
Andy Dalton finds Mohamed Sanu for a big gain and Jermaine Gresham does the rest to get the Bengals into the end zone.
At the end of 3 the Bengals lead 10-0.
The Patriots are driving in for a touchdown when Terence Newman steps in the passing lane and picks off a pass from Brady.
But, Dalton and the Bengals give it right back on an interception.
Tom Brady finds Danny Amendola for a touchdown to cut the lead to 3.
It is too little too late as the Bengals hang on for a big road primetime win.
